Legacy Natural - 
Ranch & Feedyard

Includes SAV and NHTC

Legacy Natural includes NHTC and SAV and is added at virtually no additional cost, but it has massive premium potential.

Requirements

​

  • Cattle may never receive antibiotics, certain antimicrobials, animal by-products, ionophores, beta agonists, or hormones.  Colostrum and Coccidiostats are allowed.

  • If some cattle get any of the above, they must be identified in a way which clearly indicates they no longer qualify for Legacy Natural.

  • Calves can receive colostrum within the first 3 days of birth.  Customer must record date of birth and treatment days.

  • All Legacy Natural cattle must go through approved PVP Natural locations to maintain their certification.​

Legacy Natural cattle also are eligible for our China Verified Program

Overview

​

Since 2020, some of the highest and steadiest premiums have been for PVP Verified Natural Cattle.  

 

Rather than making you jump through a bunch of unrealistic hoops, the Legacy Natural program is designed from a producers’ perspective while still giving you access to the natural designation. 

 

This program is in addition to the NHTC and SAV programs. Similar to NHTC, you can’t administer hormones, beta-agonists, or certain antimicrobials, but antibiotics, animal by-products, and ionophores are also prohibited. (Colostrum and Coccidiostats are allowed.) 

 

Of course, we know that you’re going to treat sick animals, so the program just requires that those few head that you treat, are identified and recorded so that they can be sorted from conforming animals. They will still qualify for NHTC and SAV but will not be Legacy Natural.     

*Vaccines are allowed in all programs.

  1. Complete and signed application (fill out online below).

  2. Completed and signed contract.

  3. Calving Records - Please make sure the records include the month/day/year for the calving group(s) you are trying to certify. (Photocopies of calving records are sufficient.)

  4. Head Count Support - Any records to help the Legacy Verified auditor to verify the number of calves you are trying to verify. Examples: Individual Calving Records, Vaccine Records with doses purchased, Cow/Calf Inventory Records, Branding Tally, Preg Check Records, etc.

*Please keep in mind that Legacy Verified cannot assign an arbitrary calving date for age verification. The first calf born must be documented and all calves in that calving group will be assigned the birthdate of the oldest calf born.

** If older calves need to be excluded from the group, those calves will need to be identified in a way so that they can be easily sorted and removed from the approved group at the time of shipping.
