Julie’s professional background includes experience in both beef and dairy, including agriculture lending and finance, farm office manager, marketing and data management and promoting dairy margin protection education and resources and working in nutrients for the support and functioning of the immune system and reproduction. Production outcomes and bringing bottom line impact resources to the industry is what drives her day to day.
Industry experience includes giving back to the bovine industries. She has volunteered for National Collegiate American Dairy Challenge regionally and nationally, is an active member of Dairy Girl Network, is past President of California Cattlewomen, Inc. and was selected as the California Beef Promoter of the Year for 2021, and Cattlewoman of the Year in 2015 for Kern County Cattlewomen.
She passionately feels that the bovine industry is in a business upgrade season. With lines between beef and dairy continuing to require consumer confidence, good bovine management and nutritional support provided by quality products that bring economic value are going to set the stage for the future.
Julie is married to Bill Barnett, an experienced large herd calf, heifer and milking herd manager and has one daughter, Shannon, who also works in agriculture.
