Saudi Arabia is an easy add-on to the Legacy Natural and Legacy Natural - Dairy Programs.

Overview

The Saudi Arabia program can be a fairly straightforward addition to the Legacy Natural or Legacy Natural - Dairy Program. This addition has proven to bring more buyers to the table as packers need the ability to send variety meats to Middle Eastern Countries to maintain/increase carcass value.

The Saudi Arabia Export Verification Program focuses on the use of animal by-products in feed. If you're going to participate, your cattle cannot be fed any animal proteins post weaning (except milk replacer and fish meal) and they can only be fed beef tallow from approved plants (if fed at all) - all of which are already prohibited by the Legacy Natural and Legacy Natural - Dairy Programs.

Requirements

Saudi Arabia Program Animals must move directly to a Saudi Arabia Approved location.
Animals in the Saudi Arabia Program must be source verified and harvested under 30 months of age.
Cattle must not be fed prohibited animal proteins post-weaning (milk replacer and fishmeal are allowed.)
Program animals must never be fed animal tallow other than from beef sources and must be sourced form an approved rendering plant.
If any prohibited feeds are administered, the animal must be identified in a manner that indicates it no longer qualifies for the Saudi Arabia Program.
The names and manufacturers of any pre-mixed and/or commercial feeds must be documented.
