Regions: Kansas & Mid-West
April grew up in Northern Arizona where he dad taught her everything she wanted to know about ranching and working with livestock. With three other sisters, her family was very active in 4-H and FFA. They showed projects from chickens and rabbits to cattle and horses, and everything in between. April also judged livestock and had a love for rodeo and riding horses. Later in her high school years, April and her family moved to Kansas, where April still resides with her husband and two children today.
After graduating high school, April was offered a livestock judging scholarship from Seward County Community College, where she attended for two years and received her Associate’s Degree in Animal Sciences. Continuing her education, April then attended West Texas A&M University where she worked in the meats lab on campus. Part of her responsibilities included traveling to various, regional packing plants and collecting data, processing electronic ear tags, measuring and assigning Rib Eye Scores, and more. While attending West Texas A&M, April was also very active in the Ag Business Club and Collegiate 4-H.
Throughout college and even afterwards, April has continued working with livestock in many different positions, ranging from work in veterinary offices to even working as an auditor to verify ranches for Source and Age. Through it all, her number one focus has always been taking care of her family, now in Scott City, KS, and is excited to continue working with the best of America’s producers as an auditor with Legacy Verified!
